Adele Booysen

Adele was born and raised in South Africa. She moved to Taiwan in 1995, where she joined a multi-media ministry that used English teaching as a means to reach Chinese speakers around the world. After more than 7 years in Taiwan, God opened the door for Adele to pursue a Masters degree at Azusa Pacific University. At APU, Adele's path crossed with Empowering Lives International. She took short-term teams to Mozambique, one team of which underwent agricultural skills training at ELI's center in California. Though Adele thought she was moving to Canada next, God has led her path back to Africa. She'll be moving to Kenya ahead of our team, and when we leave, she'll be staying on at ELI base in Eldoret. We're excited that our team will be able to help build Adele's hut. And we're determined to continue sending teams from New Covenant to serve in Kenya with Adele.


Linda Barlow

As a little girl and then a young woman Linda experienced valleys of despair. These valleys included a broken home and marriage which left Linda with physical and emotional wounds.

However, God in His awesome mercy always brought angles into her life. She began her walk with Christ at thirty and everything changed. She was blessed with a wonderful God fearing man who loved Jesus with all of his heart and assisted in the rearing of her two boys. Linda's prince Steve went to be with the Lord two years ago. Today, Jesus Christ has helped fill that painful void.

God has blessed Linda with two Godly sons, two wonderful daughters-in-law and five blessed grandchildren. Her face glows any chance she is offered to sing the praises of her heavenly blessings.

Linda considers it a blessing to be forgiven, found and used by Christ. Over the past months, Linda has been spending time praying and discovering new leadership opportunities which the Lord has made available to her. "The invitation to go and tell other about Jesus, encourage and teach is my heart's desire." Linda lives a life of total trust and completely dependent on Jesus. "He is giving all that I need and will continue to do so. How awesome to sense His strength in my weakness!"

One of Linda's mentors stated, "He empowers us before He ever expects anything from us. He gives before He demands. We receive His competence before we receive His commands." Linda says, I know that I know "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
