Being Blessed

Greetings from Kenya. It is again a blessing to be here watching God use little children to remind us of His love, simplicity and care for each of us. Yesterday we finished our week of VBS and leadership trning. As the children prepared for their "performance" they stood with bright shinning faces filled with excitement and enthusiam. Each child was handed a special Africa 2005 "Wild about God" T-shirt and stood single file waiting for Terri to begin their program. How blessed we were to see their faces as they recited five memory verses and sang their theme song of the week. Terri, Tamara and Adele did a wonderful job creating a fun filled VBS.

Dave continues his work as master carpenter. He has a portfolio of plans and sketches for Adele to choose from. What a blessing to have his expert handy work here in Kenya.

Pat and Linda completed their teaching on servant leadership yesterday. Several of the dorm parents commented on the value of thier training. Nelson, a dorm parent, stated he was most impressed with the teaching about being a responsible parent and the legacy they will leave to their children and grandchildren.

Alissa and I have been busy conducting well child exams on all 96 children. We have been able to see some of the village children also. We have discovered some medical complications with a few of the children and would ask for your prayers. Brenda has a heart condition and we are in the process of learning how we might take her to see a cardiologist. Obediah has malaria which we are treating with medication, Shelia smashed her finger in the door about 15 days ago. We believe it is broken, however, do not have x-ray technology here. Rose has a bad case of worms and there are several children with bronchitis. Continue to pray for wisdom as we treat and suggest prevention to the families.
